Saturday Afternoon

For lunch, about 105 of us gathered at the the Methodist church's Soda Fountain, furnished with original equipment from the old Barney's Drugstore.  Brought back a lot of wonderful memories of great hamburgers and wonderful sodas and malteds.  We feasted on hamburgers (equally as good), potato salad, beans and chips.  Micca did a fantastic job arranging for the food and decorating inside and out with the help of Judy Gurley.   Micca even arranged for a 1956 Cadillac to highlight yet another spot on our trip down memory lane. 

After lunch, some gathered back at the country club for a viewing of a slide show, created by June Mason, in memory of deceased classmates.  It was a time of remembering and sharing events that brought them back from the recesses of our minds for a brief moment.  No tears--just smiles, and we went away felling as though we had gotten to know  and appreciate them just a little bit more.
