Friday Night

Friday night at the country club, we found, what else, more tables laden with food--fruit and veggie trays, chicken and beef kabobs, tortilla roll-ups, and finger sandwiches.  Once again, Cora made an excellent selection of hors d' oeuvres for our grazing pleasure.  A pleasant surprise and a beautiful addition to our accent table was the congratulatory bouquet from the class of 55.    And the entertainment was not to be out done by anyone.  Our own magician, Roger Klause, dazzled everyone with his "now you see it, now you don't" antics.  And we are still trying to figure out how he did that.  As if that wasn't enough, who should appear but, no, not St. Nick, but the next best--Elvis himself.  Whether he resurrected himself just for our event, or whether he has a hideout in the surrounding canyons, or if his appearance was another of Roger Klause's tricks, only Wanda Campbell knows.  But he can still sing "Blue Suede Shoes".   He did appear to gyrate at a little slower pace however.  We don't know for sure what he said to the ladies, but from their expressions, it must have been for their ears only.
